Instructions

●The aqueous phase is slowly added to the oil phase containing the emulsifier and continuously stirred to form a coarsely dispersed prefabricated emulsion and then homogenized. Emulsification can be done at different temperatures. In addition to the traditional heat/heat (H/H) process (the temperature of both phases is 80-90 ° C), adding the cold aqueous phase (15-30 ° C) to the hot oil phase reduces the time required for production。

●The viscosity of LUXSIL® H-1000 water-in-oil emulsion can be adjusted with three variables:
1、Viscosity of oil phase  The viscosity of the external phase directly affects the viscosity of the entire emulsion system, that is to say, if the formula with high viscosity instead of low viscosity or wax added, the viscosity of the emulsion will increase, wax added even if as low as 0.5%-1.0%, thickening effect is very significant。
2、Phase ratio  In the preparation of water-in-oil emulsion, the main composition of the emulsion is the dispersed phase. When the proportion of the dispersed phase increases, the viscosity also increases obviously, which is caused by the enhanced interaction between the dispersed phase droplets caused by the increased filling density. Therefore, the average oil content of the LUXSIL® H-1000 creams is lower than that of the emulsions, requiring an oil phase of 20%-33% for the preparation of the creams and 25%-35% for the emulsions, depending on the type of emulsion. When the ratio of oil phase is within the optimal range of emulsion stability, a stable viscous or creamy emulsion can be formed. For example, decyl oleate forms creams at an oil phase ratio of 19% to 21% and an emulsion at a ratio of 22% to 25%. In addition, if the content of dispersed aqueous phase is too high or the viscosity of the emulsion is too low, the stability of the emulsion will be reduced. This range of effectiveness is increased when high viscosity oils or oil and wax mixtures are used。
3、Dispersion  Another parameter that affects the viscosity is the dispersion, but it is not suitable to adjust the viscosity due to its influence on the emulsion stability. For mechanical reasons, when the diameter of droplet decreases and the specific surface area between phases increases, the viscosity of emulsion will increase. Due to its coarse dispersion, the cream formula before emulsification is still liquid。
